The Greek women’s water polo team won the FINA World League in Kirishi, Russia, after beating the hosts 13-10 in the final yesterday, despite trailing early in the match. Eftychia Karayianni (pictured with the ball, with Russia’s Diana Vishnjakova on the right) was Greece’s top scorer, netting five goals. Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis expressed his congratulations to the team and its coach, Koulis Iosifidis.
