A Greek Orthodox nun watches…

A Greek Orthodox nun watches a procession heading for the inauguration of the newly elected Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos, in the city’s Mount of Olives on Saturday. Theophilos said the Patriarchate’s finances were in a poor state and that the Greek Foreign Ministry had loaned the Church money so its clerics could be paid. Theophilos has yet to be officially recognized by the three powers with authority over the Patriarchate – Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority.
