A smashed police car…
A smashed police car (left) and the vehicle of a suspected bank robber after a collision between the two yesterday near Paeania, east of Athens. Constantinos Sobonis, a 35-year-old policeman, was killed in the accident after using his car to stop the oncoming vehicle driven by Yiannis Ellison, a Greek national who had just held up a nearby bank. Ellison, who recently escaped from jail, was also killed. A second officer was seriously injured.
