An artist’s impression of the ‘Onassis House of Letters and Fine Arts’ that is to be built at 109 Syngrou Ave. Construction on the 18,000-square-meter building is to begin this fall at a total cost of about 50 million euros, the Onassis Foundation said yesterday. It is being funded by the foundation. The building will include a 1,000-seat amphitheater, some smaller halls, a rare books library and a recording studio. The gunmen, who are also believed to be Greeks from Georgia, began shooting into the air with Kalashnikov rifles. Customers, waiters and dancers dove for cover while the gunmen – probably gangsters trafficking in women from Eastern Europe – tried to drag off a Russian stripper.
