Authorities look for boy missing in northern Greece since Friday night Authorities in the prefecture of Imathia in northern Greece were still searching last night for an 11-year-old boy from Veria who disappeared on Friday. The parents of Alex Meshisvili, who was born in Russia, declared him missing on Friday night. Authorities have been searching for him since then, so far to no avail. BODY DISCOVERED Gruesome find near national road Police are trying to discover the identity of a man whose body was found in a field in Afidnes, north of Athens, near the Athens-Thessaloniki national road on Saturday. The body was found after a passer-by noticed a hand poking out of the ground. Police said the victim had been beaten repeatedly in the head and had his hands and feet bound. Forged documents Two men, aged 35 and 60, have been arrested on suspicion of helping illegal immigrants travel from Greece to other parts of the EU with false documents, police said on Saturday. The two men, whose identities were not made public, were arrested after a 35-year-old woman and her three children were detained at Athens International Airport on Friday after trying to leave the country on a forged passport. Pirated CDs Police said on Saturday that they had arrested three people in connection with two separate CD and DVD pirating operations after raiding apartments in central Athens and Korydallos, where they confiscated more than 25,000 pirated CDs and 200 DVDs. The men, aged 26, 29 and 41, were charged with breach of copyright by a prosecutor. Sailor dies The navy said it is conducting an investigation after a crew member from the frigate Spetsai was found dead on board the ship on Saturday morning. The body of Isidoros Holevas was found shortly after the frigate set sail from Crete to join a NATO fleet. It was not immediately clear what caused his death. Bike burners Two teenagers were responsible for a spate of arson attacks in Thessaloniki that led to 21 motorcycles being burned, police said on Saturday after arresting one of the suspects. Officers said the unnamed 16-year-old was caught while trying to set fire to a motorcycle. A 13-year-old is still being sought by police.
