A tourist walks out of the Stoa of Attalos at the site of the ancient Agora in Athens yesterday. The Agora was where most of the political, commercial, social and cultural activity took place in ancient Athens. According to the National Tourism Organization forecast for 2002, Greece is expecting an estimated 3 million tourists from Britain, up from 2.7 million in 2001, due to improved facilities at the airports of Rhodes, Crete, Corfu and Athens. He said the government would table a draft law to that effect in the next fortnight.
