The municipal council of the City of Athens voted Theodoros Behrakis as the new mayor of Athens yesterday to replace Dora Bakoyannis, who is now foreign minister. Behrakis, a councilor representing the ruling New Democracy party, beat off competition from the only other candidate, Angelos Moschonas. Behrakis received 14 of the 25 votes.
