Woman key in convict search
A massive manhunt which had been launched to find the two prisoners who escaped from Korydallos prison on Sunday did not yield any results yesterday, but sources said investigations are focusing on a woman who visited one of the two escapees four times in prison. Police sources said the woman, a foreign national, had visited Vassilis Palaiocostas four times in one month while he was in prison before he escaped along with Albanian Alket Rizai. She is thought to have acted as a link between the prisoners and the people in charge of the daring helicopter operation that stunned authorities. Sources said the CCTV footage of her from outside the prison and when she had accompanied two unknown men during a test helicopter flight 10 days ago is of poor quality.
