An Athens to Piraeus train crosses the swollen Kifissos at Moschato, southern Athens, yesterday. After heavy rainfall most of the morning, the railway service was discontinued for a few hours as river waters washed over the bridge. Many Athens roads were flooded, while the rain combined with the trash left over from last week’s garbage collectors’ strike tÔ add to the chaos.
