Global leap in criminality; the EU model
The latest data supplied by the United Nations shows that globally, juvenile crime has shot up in recent years to represent 50 to 70 percent of all illegal activities, and 60 to 85 percent of serious crimes that are accompanied by violence. In Europe, 6 to 7 percent of minors have been involved in some kind of crime. Measures for preventing juvenile crime in the European Union vary from country to country. Some do not have parole officers, but their work is done by other mechanisms. In Britain, parole officers are active on many levels of the corrections system, even when it comes to penalties. Parole officers in the UK work to reintegrate young offenders into society.
