Greek athlete Eleni Filandra collides with a Portuguese runner during the qualification for the women’s 800-meter race at the European indoor athletics championship in Birmingham, England, yesterday. The two athletes were not injured but failed to qualify. Sprinter Katerina Thanou is due to take part in the heats for the 60 meters today. It is the first event on foreign soil she will take part in after completing a two-year suspension for missing a doping test on the eve of the 2004 Olympics.
