Helicopters fly…

Two military helicopters fly above the Parthenon in Athens yesterday as part of a parade held to commemorate Greece’s Independence Day. Under a brilliant sun and clear skies, the country’s armed forces marched through the city center to memorialize the beginning of the Greeks’ struggle to free themselves from the Ottoman Empire in 1821, after nearly 400 years of Turkish rule. A student parade was held in the capital on Saturday as part of the celebration.
