‘Don’t put yet another burden on children’

«We cannot make children into robots,» says Constantinos Yiannopoulos, president of the charity The Child’s Smile, who won’t hear of such devices being implanted in children. «It’s unacceptable; it’s hysteria,» he claims, objecting to placing any more burdens on children. He sees it as the duty of any responsible parent to find ways of dealing with the dangers they face. As a recent article in The Times of London pointed out, implanting chips in children will stop them from ever learning to be independent because they will depend on their parents’ being able to locate them.
