Maid is found dead in Ekali
A Filipino maid has been found stabbed to death at a house in the affluent northern Athens suburb of Ekali following a suspected robbery at the property, police said yesterday. The 50-year-old woman had been missing since Saturday and her family contacted the police when they were unable to track her down. Officers went to the home where she worked on Monday night to check on her whereabouts. Police said the woman’s body was visible in the hallway of the villa. The owner, the boss of jewelry business, had been away and was contacted by the officers. An autopsy revealed that the unnamed woman had been stabbed twice in the throat and killed on Saturday afternoon. Officers said that a small safe containing valuable collections of jewelry and watches was missing from the house. No signs of a forced entry were found.
