Tremor hits between Amorgos and Astypalaia but no damage caused An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale was recorded between the Cycladic islands of Amorgos and Astypalaia at 11.52 p.m. on Friday night, followed by a 4.1 Richter aftershock at 12.48 a.m. on Saturday. The tremors were felt on a number of other islands, including Kos and Leros, but no injury or damage was reported. The epicenter of the quake was 250 kilometers northeast of Athens. SAILORS RESCUED Boat sinks in northern Aegean Coast guard officers rescued five Greek sailors on Saturday when the fishing boat they were sailing in sank between the islands of Lesvos and Aghios Efstratios in the northern Aegean. The sailors were taken to the hospital on Lemnos for medical checks. It was not clear what caused their boat to sink.
