Tertiary students chanting ‘No tolerance, better conditions’ as they marched in central Thessaloniki yesterday demanding an increase in government spending on technical colleges. Students in Athens and other cities across the country, including Kalamata and Arta, also demonstrated and called for the government to drop plans to recognize the diplomas issued by privately owned colleges. According to EU directives, Greece is obliged to recognize the diplomas of graduates issued by foreign universities working with private Greek institutions.
