National Archaeological Museum…

Some of the country’s most prominent artists gathered in front of the National Archaeological Museum in central Athens yesterday to protest against what they call the disgraceful handling of government funds allocated to arts events. Dozens of artists, including composer Stamatis Kraounakis, staged a silent street protest titled ‘Angry Art.’ The attempted suicide of former Culture Ministry general secretary Christos Zachopoulos has resulted in a probe into the allocation of millions of euros to cultural events in the period from 2006 to 2007.
