‘Tremendous contribution’
The presence of Archbishop Anastassios of Albania is a powerful link in Greek-Albanian relations. What are your relations with him and how do you see his work? [Our relations] are very good. Anastassios has made a tremendous contribution to revitalizing the Orthodox Church in Albania. But his application for Albanian nationality has been pending for many years. Do you agree that it should be granted to him? The problem is that I am the prime minister and that is not in my area of responsibility. I am sure that the president of the republic will examine the application; it is a matter for the president.
