Tatoulis blasts easy ride for high-fliers

Former Culture Minister Petros Tatoulis launched an outspoken attack on the government during a meeting of the New Democracy central committee on Saturday, saying that it was setting a bad example to the public by letting high-profile offenders off the hook. Tatoulis made reference to Public Works Minister Giorgos Souflias and Antenna TV owner Minos Kyriakou, who have both been accused of violating building regulations in the construction of their summer homes. Tatoulis also highlighted the case of Alter TV, which had some of its debts waived thanks to a legal amendment. «How are citizens supposed to feel when these cases are covered up?» demanded the ex-minister. «How are they supposed to feel that the system takes them into account when they are lost in a maze of public services, tax offices and town-planning offices.»
