According to the Association of Greek Tourist Enterprises (SETE), by 2010 there will be 150,000 new jobs created in the Greek hospitality and tourism industry. There are unlimited opportunities for individuals who attain a quality education and skill-set that prepares them for leadership positions in this exciting industry. These individuals are people who are comfortable dealing with either domestic and/or global market needs. Future global managers, today’s students, must be able to function in this new environment and Alpine Center’s mission is to prepare them by building on character, careers and professional skills at all management levels. Corporations today are looking for individuals who can compete in the global marketplace. Preparing them to function in such international environments is Alpine’s ultimate goal: to build on character, to build on careers and to build on leadership by providing our students with personal & professional skills in order for them to succeed in middle or senior management positions. Alpine’s campus is a full-fledged hotel located along the coast of Glyfada, where students are both guests and staff. Facilities also include lecture rooms with the latest audiovisual equipment, a library and a custom-made computer center for the hotel and tourist industry. Students come from all over the world to attend Alpine’s programs of study. This in itself is a great advantage, taking into consideration that hospitality is truly an international field. Students develop competence through active learning and are required to fulfill two industry placements of 20 weeks each in order to receive the Swiss Diploma, leading to the BA. ?Alpine graduates enter the workforce with discipline, persistence, higher perceived self-efficacy and valuable specific and transferable skills,» according to Sybil Hofmann, President of Alpine Center. Alpine graduates have an employment placement record of 100%. This impressive figure is a direct reflection of our graduates’ competitive advantage and the dynamic efforts of our Career & Placement Office which helps students launch their careers. Intakes are every October, January and April. Alpine’s Admissions Office staff would be delighted to assist with any questions and application procedures.
