‘The plutocracy should pay for the crisis’…

Members of the Communist Party affiliated PAME union are seen through a hole in a banner following a rally in Omonia Square and a subsequent march through central Athens. More than 1,000 people took part in the peaceful demonstration, chanting the slogan ‘The plutocracy should pay for the crisis.’ In an address, Communist leader Aleka Papariga accused the government and business owners of lying to workers when they tell them that sacrifices have to be made due to growing debt and deficits. ‘We will not make even the slightest sacrifice,’ said Papariga. PAME called on its members to ignore the positions of other unions.
