Earth Hour…

The lights at the Acropolis were switched off on Saturday evening to mark Earth Hour, which saw millions of people across the globe turn off the lights in their homes and businesses in a bid to promote energy saving and highlight the threat posed by climate change. In Greece, an estimated 600,000 households participated in the Earth Hour initiative, turning off lights for an hour from 8.30 p.m. Lights at public buildings, archaeological sites and landmarks across the country were switched off and thousands attended a concert at the capital’s Pnyx Hill.
