‘Allies forever’…

French President Nicolas Sarkozy (l) embraces visiting Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis in Paris yesterday. Sarkozy reportedly told Karamanlis that their two countries would be ‘allies forever’ during talks that touched on issues of Greek interest, such as the Cyprus problem and the ‘Macedonia’name dispute. Talks also covered a number of frigates Greece is planning to buy from France. The two leaders reportedly discussed at length the impact of the global financial crisis. According to sources, Sarkozy told the Greek premier that he ‘would not allow the creation of erroneous impressions about Greece’s economy.’
