Spring is in the air with May Day wreaths
A large wreath made of hundreds of flowers adorned Syntagma Square yesterday as part of efforts by the City of Athens to mark May Day. Six other locations in the city were decorated with brightly colored spring wreaths and today ‘vivid floral columns’ will be placed in three central squares (Syntagma, Klafthmonos and Kotzia) and on Vassilissis Sofias Avenue opposite the Evangelismos Hospital. Greeks traditionally make wreaths on May Day.
