European Parliament elections…

University students exchange ideas while surrounded by posters and leaflets in the residence halls in Zografou, Athens, yesterday. Students of unions affiliated to political parties are gearing up for student polls as politicians tour campus faculties across the country in a bid to drum up support ahead of European Parliament elections on June 7. The party secretary of main opposition PASOK, Yiannis Ragousis, was among those who spoke to students yesterday. A spokesperson for ruling New Democracy’s youth arm ONNED said yesterday that students are expected to take the same stance in student elections as in forthcoming Euro polls.
