President Papoulias visits a Syrian market
President Karolos Papoulias (center) is seen yesterday during a visit to a covered market selling carpets and other locally produced wares in Aleppo, northern Syria. Papoulias was accompanied by a delegation of Greek businessmen on his three-day visit to the Arab republic, which he concluded yesterday. The Greek president stressed that bilateral relations were excellent, adding that ‘Greece is Syria’s window on the European Union.’
