Two men accused of incestuous child abuse

The Attica police force’s child protection department yesterday reported two alleged cases of incestuous child abuse – one involving a 48-year-old Greek and his 11-year-old niece and the other a 62-year-old Albanian and his 12-year-old grandson. The 48-year-old is alleged to have been sexually abusing his niece, now aged 11, for the past five years. According to police, the suspect took advantage of the child during the absence of its parents, who had entrusted him with her care. The suspect’s sister went to police to press charges after allegedly seeing him abusing her daughter. In the case of the 62-year-old, the suspect is alleged to have raped his 12-year-old grandson four times. Charges were brought against him after the boy complained that he was being sexually abused. Both alleged child abusers are to face a prosecutor today.
