Kifissias protest brings footbridge pledge

Infrastructure Minister Dimitris Reppas promised yesterday that a footbridge would be constructed in Filothei, northern Athens, so pedestrians could get from one side of Kifissias Avenue to the other safely. His pledge came after pupils from Athens and Psychico colleges closed the road for an hour yesterday morning to demand a footbridge be built after a 15-year-old classmate was knocked down and killed while crossing the street.
