Heavy rain…
Cars travel yesterday along a road running between Iraklio and Messara on Crete that collapsed following heavy rain. One person is missing and dozens of homes and businesses have been flooded on Crete after heavy overnight rain. Authorities did not identify the missing man but said that he had been swept away while trying to cross a stream by car in Rethymno Prefecture. A 12-year-old boy who was in the vehicle with him managed to clamber to safety. Firefighters were also called to more than 200 homes and businesses in Iraklio that were flooded due to the rainfall. A female police officer also had to be rescued after being swept away by the water.
