AEK holds PAO to a 1-1 draw

Panathinaikos drew 1-1 with AEK in the Athens derby for the soccer Super League yesterday to see its lead at the top of the table cut to six points. The visitors led through a Nacho Scocco goal in the ninth minute but Panathinaikos equalized 22 minutes later through Dimitris Salpigidis, who later hit the woodwork. Aris saw its unbeaten run end at Xanthi, going down 2-1. PAS Yiannina put Larissa in relegation trouble with its 2-0 win at home; Iraklis inflicted yet another loss on Kavala (1-0); Levadiakos beat Asteras Tripolis by the same score and Panthrakikos scored its first win this season, defeating Ergotelis 3-2 at home. Panathinaikos leads with 49 points, Olympiakos and PAOK have 43, Aris has 32 and AEK, in fifth, has 30.
