Saint Catherine’s Orthodox sixth-century monastery in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula, seen in this file photo, is part of the area which UNESCO added to its World Heritage List on Thursday. The area is of spiritual importance to Christianity, Islam and Judaism. The monastery houses a large collection of ancient manuscripts and icons. The council scheduled another round of consultations today.
