Security employee maimed by firecracker
A security employee is carried off the pitch at the Olympic Stadium in Maroussi, north of Athens, late on Sunday after a firecracker exploded in her hand, ripping the tips off two of her fingers. The incident occurred as the woman was gathering flares thrown onto the pitch during a match between soccer rivals Panathinaikos and Olympiakos. Doctors said yesterday that they had successfully reattached the parts of the woman’s digits.
