Insight on being a foreigner
Father Maximos was born in Germany in 1968 to Greek parents. He spent his childhood there and, after a short period living in Greece, returned to Stuttgart, where he was involved in programs for migrants for 20 years. In 2008, he returned to Greece, where he was appointed a preacher to the Archdiocese of Athens, and in November 2009 he took up the post of parish priest at Aghios Panteleimonas Church in the capital. He still works at the Archbishopric in the mornings and once a week at the Pendeli Monastery.
