Kiosk protest brief but noticeable

A pedestrian walks past a kiosk yesterday in central Athens, one of some 40,000 around the country that did not open for business yesterday. The kiosk owners held a 24-hour strike to protest changes in the tobacco tax which, they say, threaten their livelihoods. Kiosks are also among the businesses that have to issue receipts as part of new tax rules.
