Bill proposal for healthcare

Health Minister Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou (left) and her deputy Fofi Gennimata prepare for a news conference yesterday during which they unveiled a bill aimed at improving the national health service. One of the ideas to be included in the prospective draft law is for state hospitals to offer patients the opportunity to see doctors in the afternoon. Xenogiannakopoulou believes that 20-25 hospitals would be able to offer this service. The bill would also ensure that the patients’ social security fund rather than the hospital foot the bill for their treatment.
