Temple of Athena Nike free of scaffolding

Tourists were able to admire the Temple of Athena Nike in all its glory yesterday after experts completed another stage of the Acropolis restoration program. The Ionic monument was the last site to be restored as part of a project that started in 2001 and has cost 42.6 million euros. The government pledged in May to press ahead with the project despite its debt problems.
