Heavy rain floods homes in northern Greece
A resident of the village of Pedini, near Ioannina in northwestern Greece, gestures at his flooded home on Saturday. Heavy rain over the weekend caused widespread flooding and damage in northern and western Greece. In the prefecture of Ioannina, many major roads were flooded and others cordoned off to motorists following landslides. The heavy rain also caused several rivers to swell. All bridges over Strymon River were closed after the water rose to dangerous levels.
