Comedian Yiannis Gionakis, when he acted in dozens of films each year in the 1950s and 1960s. Gionakis died yesterday in an Athenian clinic after a long illness. He was 80. Aside from his starring roles as a lovable scamp, he was in the limelight in the mid-1980s after he shot and injured a woman companion. He leaves two daughters.
