A young woman enters the National Archaeological Museum…

A young woman enters the National Archaeological Museum in Athens yesterday, a few days before the building’s October 1 closure for extensive refurbishment ahead of the 2004 Olympic Games. Under the annual ‘European Cultural Heritage Days’ – whose theme this year is commercial transactions through the ages – entry to all Greek museums and archaeological sites will be free over the weekend, while 40 venues are to host displays on economic and mercantilist activity in Greece since ancient times.
