Prime Minister Costas Simitis said 62,900 new jobs will be generated…

Prime Minister Costas Simitis yesterday said 62,900 new jobs will be generated next year, under a government program to reduce Greece’s unemployment rate – which is the second highest in the European Union. A campaign to create 300,000 new jobs between 2000 and 2004 is proceeding well, with 160,000 positions generated so far, Simitis told a press conference.
