Prime Minister Costas Simitis and his visiting Bulgarian counterpart, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, celebrate with a glass of champagne a deal yesterday to proceed with the long-stagnant Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline. Simitis said Greece, Bulgaria and Russia – which is contributing the oil – would participate equally in the venture. ‘The commercial aspects will be examined over the next few weeks,’ he added.
