A motorbike that was illegally parked on a central Athens pavement is hoisted onto a truck as police launched a campaign yesterday to crack down on illegal parking, which is rife in a city woefully underendowed with parking areas. By late yesterday, over 50 motorbikes had been hauled away, while 126 cars and motorbikes had their number plates removed and 185 parking tickets were issued. This follows a crackdown on jaywalking.
