NEW YORK TIMES ON MARKEZINIS: New York, 1 – The New York Times reported on a telegram from Athens to the effect that the real power in the (new Papagos) government is in the hands of (Spyros) Markezinis, who has assumed the most important portfolio (Coordination) and is the main link to the Americans. SUGAR DISTRIBUTION: An extra ration of 200 drams (640 grams) of sugar per person has been ordered along with another of 100 drams per person throughout the country. For the month of December the total ration will be one oka (1,280 grams) and 100 drams per person. EVAPORATED MILK: The ration of evaporated milk for the month of November will be distributed on Monday, December 8. GREEK AIRCRAFT SAVED: London, 3 – According to a Reuters report from Graz, Austria, the Greek passenger aircraft (of the airline TAE ) on a regular flight from Frankfurt in West Germany to Thessaloniki and Athens, made a forced landing this afternoon in Graz because of engine trouble. None of the three passengers or five crew members was injured. (…). The engine trouble first started after passing Salzburg. The pilot, using just the one engine, landed the plane safely in the midst of a blinding blizzard. «BLUE FOX:» European cultural show at 32 Troias Street. Reasonable prices.
