STALINIST ANTI-SEMITISM: London, 13 – The Kremlin had another surprise in store today for the world with the news that nine Jewish doctors, in league with an international Jewish organization, an agent of the «British-American warmongers,» murdered (senior Soviet officials) Zdanov and Alexander Serbakov because of mistaken diagnoses. According to Moscow radio, they were not satisfied with killing these two senior Soviet officials but also tried to poison the Russian Military Minister Field Marshal Vasilievski, Field Marshal Govorov, wartime governor of the Leningrad front, Field Marshal Koniev, governor of the land forces of the Red Army in 1946, General Stemenko, former chief of staff of the Red Army and deputy minister for the military, and Admiral Levtsenko, deputy minister for the navy, who died in 1948 (…). The news is being broadcast continually today throughout the entire Soviet Union in all languages. SILENCE: London 14 – Moscow is maintaining silence after yesterday’s drum-beating about the accusations against the doctors. NATIONAL-ATHENS MERGER: About 100 staff members of the Bank of Athens arrived at the National Bank’s central branch to assume their duties yesterday morning, following the decision by the administration of the National Bank to reopen the bank (…). National Bank staff who had not gone on strike left their offices forthwith in a show of protest.
