ND’s plan has some good points
Opposition New Democracy?s presentation of its suggestions to help boost the economy contained several interesting and positive elements.
The main area of interest was that it emphasized the private sector and economic growth, in contrast to the ruling party, which views businesses as nothing more than bottomless well from which to draw taxes.
Meanwhile, the fact that opposition leader Antonis Samaras supported the sale of state real estate assets, as well as certain privatizations, creates the impression that there is hope for New Democracy to back the government?s efforts in this direction.
Samaras covered a lot of ground in his second presentation at Zappeio Hall compared to his last one, called Zappeio 1, and the government would do well to accept certain positions presented at Zappeio 2.
Agreeing with the country?s main opposition party on certain points will help the government to project an image of consensus and bolster the country?s international credibility on the eve of crucial negotiations with our international creditors.
