When the going?s not good

PASOK members of Parliament are in a very sticky situation right now, because they know that if they approve the new memorandum they will be committing political suicide while if they don?t they will be leading the country to ruin.

This country?s politicians seem to be fine only when the going is good. Now that serious commitments to painful changes are called for, their lives have become exponentially more difficult.

Those who can?t take the heat had best get out of the kitchen. Those who choose to stay, meanwhile, should realize that they only have one choice when it comes to how they choose to continue: along the long hard path that has already being trodden by thousands of Greeks who feel the threat of bankruptcy, unemployment and future uncertainty looming over them every day.
