Greece?s tired officials
Most of the socialist government?s ministers appear completely bushed, as though they don?t really believe in the urgency of reforms and spending and staff cuts.
They are in snooze mode and they only seem to wake up ahead of visits by foreign inspectors, where again, they show little courage.
The problem is that Greece cannot survive without foreign aid and loans from its peers, who have realized by now that the Greek political system is unable to perform in way that other states take for granted.
It is a tortuous process that will only come to an end if our leaders wake up to their responsibilities, or if EU and IMF officials come to decide they have had enough of Greece?s reluctant politicians and decide to throw more drastic, and, of course, painful measures at them to rescue the nation from default.
