The Athens correspondent of the French daily Le Monde said that Mr Bidault’s talks in Greece, coming after the recent visit by a French navy squadron on Greek Independence Day (March 25), is an indication of France’s interest in what is traditionally a friendly nation. ALFRED KRUPP: The German industrialist Mr Alfred Krupp arrived in Athens a few days ago. PAVLOS PETRIDIS: Mainz, Germany, 15 – The recent performance of Pavlos Petridis’s oratorio «Aghios Pavlos,» which was staged at the Opera of Mainz, was a resounding success. The orchestra of 120 and two choirs, with five distinguished soloists under the brilliant direction of the opera’s general director, won general acclaim for what was characterized as a masterpiece. The audience gave the performance a standing ovation.
