Investments and Palco

It’s tragic to see companies like Palco leave Greece. Why is foreign investment in Greece falling every year? Well, for one, I don’t understand why we are surprised. The first dangerous sign of PASOK’s inability to do anything right should have been seen back in the early 1980s when Ford Motor Company wanted to open a car manufacturing plant in Corinth that would have employed 5,000 employees who were going to produce a model called the Desta. But Andreas Papandreou showed those greedy capitalists. He insisted on the company paying high taxes to invest in Greece. Well, Ford Motor Company never came to Greece. What a lost opportunity in jobs, technology, etc. But what do you expect from a political party that is more concerned with organizing anti-American rallies than taking care of Greece’s interests? I mean the union strikes and shutdowns are getting old. Which foreign investor is going to set up shop in Greece when all they see in the news are strikes. Time is money and perception is reality.
