Foolish unionists

Thousands of families all over Greece are on tenterhooks over whether their children will do well in the upcoming national university entrance exams and manage to earn a spot at a tertiary education institution.

Their anxiety, however, is being made even worse by certain unionists representing teachers in secondary education who have a perverted sense of reality and who are threatening to strike during the exam period, upsetting the entire process.

Hopefully, these unionists will realize that this is the kind of disruptive behavior that provokes the anger of the public and justifies the negatives stereotypes that have come to prevail in regard to labor movements.

The fact is that no one has the right to toy with thousands of families whose children’s futures hang in the balance, and certainly not at a time such as this.
